Saint-Barthélemy-d'Agenais is a small village, located in the canton of Coteaux de Guyenne not far from Marmande, which today has about 500 inhabitants. It only gained its suffix Agenais in 1919. Its history is ancient and road works in 1840 brought to light 70 tombs from the Carolingian period as well as a bronze statue of Vespasian. Surrounded by numerous agricultural crops, this village also has a certain cultural dynamism with a media library and a cultural center. The village is also home to a multicultural association called "Quartier des arts" which aims to develop and perpetuate culture in rural areas.
