Authentic and generous cuisine in an excellent gastronomic bistro in Puycelsi.
Here is a very nice address that Le Petit Futé is proud to recommend: At Le Cabanon, a gastronomic bistro par excellence, a little corner of paradise that we like to rediscover with each visit.... The kind of gourmet and original address that we are always happy to find. The concept is rather atypical: a restaurant room on a terrace only, shaded, sheltered and heated in cool weather. It is easier to understand why the place is closed in the middle of winter. In 2015, it received the label Tourisme de Terroir du Pays des bastides et vignobles du Gaillac for the quality of its cuisine, representing local gastronomy and associated with a strong collaboration with the winegrowers of the Gaillac region. The plate is generous and authentic, just like a bistro kitchen.

Tucked in a corner of the car park in the centre of Puycelsi, you would be forgiven for overlooking this restaurant.
This would be a major mistake.
Having fined in all the local Bastide Village restaurants, in the area, I can categorically say that this is by far the best, from a creativity and taste perspective.
The menu is simple, the surroundings are simple, the flavours of the food are complex and the chef has a fine pallet, balancing the levels of acidity, sweetness and seasoning perfectly.
Best of all, this fantastic food comes at a truly affordable price.
Also, they tolerate my embarrassing attempts to speak French, without any laughter.
Please visit. I promise you will not be disappointed.
