A few kilometers from Gaillac, hidden in the middle of vineyards, Montans is a great place for national archeology. This small tarnese village is considered one of the largest ceramic centers of the Roman Gaul of the first two centuries of our era. Although the discovery of the site (and its Roman pottery) dates back to the beginning of the eighteenth century, it was still virtually unknown that Montans was 25 years ago. The excavations undertaken in the 1970 s, in part, lifted the veil over the potency of the Gallo-Roman site and, in 1992, urban works revealed 40 gold coins…
