Monastério, now Monestiés, derives most of its fame from the remarkable Entombment housed in its chapel. Composed of twenty life-size polychrome limestone statues, the installation is unique in the world. While this curiosity may encourage you to pass through this pretty medieval village, it is its tangle of narrow streets and period houses around the church of Saint-Pierre that will occupy a large part of your day. During your walk, you will discover the charm of its medieval, Renaissance or 17th century houses, the Griffoul fountain, as well as the Saint-Pierre church and its 17th century altarpiece.
