The village of Teyssieu is dominated by a 30-metre high square keep, a remnant of a castle built in 1232 at the request of the Viscount of Turenne. The keep has remarkable paintings dating from the 13th century, including a jousting scene with knights fighting each other. Here, their state of conservation is unique - there are only three of its kind in Occitania - and a restoration specialist worked in 2010 to consolidate the paintings to protect them.
