Montpezat and its neighbour Saint-Sardos, experienced the preludes of the Hundred Years War. This castral village, built on a promontory overlooking the Lot valley, was the last Huguenot place in the Agenais to surrender. The windmill of Capet offers an exceptional panorama, you must go there! Built in 1870, it was abandoned for a long time and only recovered its wings in 2003. The churches of Saint-Jean-de-la-Balerme (13th century mural paintings), Saint-Vincent-de-Pérignac and Saint-Médard-et-Floirac are situated on a very pleasant walking route which promises remarkable views of the surrounding hills.
