Miers is a precious witness to human history. The first human traces found here date back to the Middle Paleolithic (300,000 years BP), as revealed by the prehistoric site of Les Fieux. While the commune abounds in caves, chasms, igues (natural wells) and other exceptional territories for adventure-seeking cavers, it's the prehistoric grotte des Fieux, discovered on November 2, 1964, that holds the greatest promise for visitors to this day. The commune's rich history also offers an insight into the Middle Ages: monastery, priory, hospital, castle... The stones are open-air archives.
