Medieval castle hosting an exhibition of paintings, sculptures and crafts every summer
This medieval castle is an impressive sight! As early as the 12thcentury , the Cardaillac family, who dominated the entire region at the time, began building a keep on the site. A solid square construction, 18 meters on each side, with walls over 3 meters thick, rising to a height of 30 meters and comprising 3 storeys, each divided into 4 rooms. The main building was not built until the 15thand 16thcenturies . Exhibition of paintings, sculptures and crafts in spring and summer.

Le Château de Lacapelle-Marival
Le Château de Lacapelle-Marival a été construit à la fin du XIII e siècle par le fils cadet de la famille Cardaillac et a été durant 4 siècles la résidence de cette famille. Il a été classé Monument Historique en 1939. Mais ce Château était fermé car la saison estivale était sans doute considérée comme terminée ! Renseignements pris à la mairie jouxtant le Château : le Château était ouvert en septembre « tous les dimanches après-midi, de 15h à 18h » ainsi que pour les journées du Patrimoine prévues les samedi 21 et dimanche 22 septembre 2019. J'ai donc dû me contenter des extérieurs, cependant très beaux, et des jardins.
