The origin of the name comes from the cultivation of "chènevières" hemp on the valley's alluvial deposits. 2 kilometers away, a beautiful dolmen at Mas de Labat and, towards Limogne, on the Girou, the Trou-Madame resurgence, made famous by its world diving record, await you. At Saint-Clair, in the commune of Cénevières, you can admire a small church whose foundations date back to the 11th century. It was built 50 metres from a so-called miraculous spring. In the past, the spring was said to have virtues, notably in the treatment of ophthalmic diseases. It was the object of popular local devotion. Cenevières also boasts a magnificent château.
