A medieval village perched high up on a hill - 80 meters above sea level - this was an ideal lookout post, where bonfires could be lit to warn of the threat of invaders. The castle ramparts protected the village from attack. Part of the ramparts and a fortified gate can still be seen. Calvignac is one of the typical villages of the Lot valley, marked by a centuries-old history and a poetry made of stones and a breath of nostalgia. Numerous dolmens can be seen in the village, proof of the presence of man long ago! Don't miss the Rocher de la Baume, a viewpoint overlooking the valley.
