The house has been converted into a permanent exhibition space on the operation and history of the old pumping station

The town's first drinking water plant, created in 1853 and closed in 1971, it used the hydraulic power of the Lot to pump water from the naturally potable Chartreux fountain.

The original machinery has now been restored, and the building has been converted into an exhibition space where visitors can learn more about the history and operation of the old pumping station, discover the Valentré Bridge, and learn about water in Cahors and around the world. An original and entertaining visit. Tip: after your visit, take advantage of the terrace facing Pont Valentré (April to October).
