The imposing 15th-century Gontaud château, flanked by two large round towers, is the gateway to the small village at the confluence of the Sagne and Célé rivers. Opposite are the ruins of the "Devil's Castle", which was destroyed in 1390 to make it unusable by English raiders. Don't miss a visit to the remarkable Pech-Merle cave. Further up the valley, you'll come to La Pescalerie, one of the valley's most enchanting sites: a semi-troglodytic mill houses the fountain of La Pescalerie, the resurgence of an underground river from the Causse de Gramat. Please note that this is a private site.
