Trie-sur-Baïse is an ancient fortified town, built in 1323 to assert the royal power. It owes its name to Jean de Trie and its destiny has been marked by many events. The town has resisted the Hundred Years War, numerous plunders, the devastating expedition of the Black Prince and the plague epidemic. Three centuries of disease and famine did not overcome Trie and today it leads a relaxing rural life filled with the vestiges of these tormented times. The town hall, the church Notre-Dame-des-Neiges or the Carmelite monastery are monuments to visit to immerse yourself in this exceptional destiny.
