The village takes its name from the Belgian city of Tournai but it is pronounced in the Bigourdane way, "Tournaille". Founded in 1307, this small village has known a tumultuous past, including a total destruction during the Wars of Religion. The village is home to the abbey of Notre-Dame-de-Tournay, a Mecca of fruit paste production. Its walls of pebbles from the stream of Arrêt and its local tiles are typical of the Coteaux. Ridge roads and forests offer beautiful walks, enjoy the rural architecture of this village with a timeless charm. An arboretum of 9 hectares on which 170 species blossom awaits you.
