A remarkable garden of the country of the hillsides of Bigorre with a picnic area, a restaurant and a tea room, in the middle of the countryside. Renate-Elisa and Lutz Hillen open the doors of their little paradise. Ceramists and potters, this artistic couple has put their creative stamp on these Gascony lands, creating an oasis where at the time of their arrival there was a dreary meadow. You enter a classified garden of 5.5 hectares, alternating atmospheres and biotopes: Contemporary Garden, Italian Gardens with Florentine fountains, Herb Path... and 7 bodies of water with aquatic plants. The works of the two artists are to be discovered along the way in the Potager des cinq sens, the Jardin exotique which surrounds the pond, the Jardin de fraîcheur shaded by tall trees, the Jardin médiéval closed with chestnut trees and climbing plants (roses, vines and wisteria). A whole universe of beauty and harmony, colors, shapes and atmospheres. Hats off to the collection of 120 varieties of bamboo. We appreciate the refreshing stop near the contemporary garden pond. Program of guided tours and exhibitions. The pottery is also a place of exhibitions and demonstrations of professionals who work with glazed stoneware, salt stoneware and porcelain.
