Nestier is one of those villages full of history and legends as the Pyrenees have so many. Built on an ancient Roman oppidum, the excavations of the Cap de la Bielle cave have brought to light tools from the Paleolithic period which attest to the ancient occupation of this territory. Strolling through the streets of the village, filled with old houses, is an instructive walk. You will not fail to visit the astonishing calvary of Mont-Arès, registered as a historical monument. The mountainous massifs and the luxuriant Baronnies ensure a majestic and rare nature, which lends itself to hikes and to cyclists and mountain bike enthusiasts.
