The village owes its name to the Templars' commandery, which was present in the 12th century and has since become a restaurant of the same name. The village has been able to develop thanks to its open-air base on the Lot, a multi-sports centre which hosts all kinds of water sports (rowing, kayaking, and occasionally water skiing). The sports hall at the base welcomes professional teams as well as touring stars! To see: its many churches and Latour Marliac: water lilies nursery founded in 1875 by the botanist J. Bory Latour-Marliac. He presented his flowers at the Universal Exhibition in Paris where they were noticed by a certain... Claude Monet!
