In the heart of the Lavedan, this commune was born from the fusion of Lau and Balagnas in 1848. In its streets, a very contemporary urbanism rubs shoulders with old buildings. This great architectural gap that stretches from 1673 to 2017 is nevertheless harmonious. The Sainte-Castère chapel will not fail to move you, it is worth the small effort of climbing because it is the only witness of the disappeared village of Castet. The village also has many fountains which are said to be the kingdom of fairies... In the background, the Pibeste massif watches over the place, and the Gaves de Pau and Gorges de Cauterets, classified Natura 2000, are worth the detour.
