Lannemezan and its 6,051 inhabitants are located in the center of a plateau where the Gascon rivers have their source. Surrounded by woods, this city is located at the crossroads of the undulating piedmont and the Pyrenean valleys. Few buildings will remind you of this bastide founded in 1274, but a few squares, including the one of the castle and its characteristic shape, are a discreet echo of it. Market site par excellence, with pigs, calves, or poultry, the market halls sign the originality of this charming city. Lannemezan, a city of passage since Roman times, is served by the Aragnouet-Bielsa tunnel linking it to Spain and by the A64.
