Lannes is a small commune of less than 400 inhabitants bordering the Gers department. The surface area of vineyards has been reduced by more than half over the last 70 years, but Lannes remains one of the leading Armagnac and Floc de Gascogne producing communes in Lot-et-Garonne. In terms of historical heritage, the Sainte-Marie church combines Gothic and Romanesque art. Dating from the beginning of the 13th century, you can see its bell tower-wall and, on the west side, its vaulted portal classified as a Historic Monument. Construction work has uncovered a primitive cemetery, with some stone tombs dating back to the Carolingian period.
