Petit Futé's opinion on LA FERME BASQUE

Plate millesim 2022

From 1750, shepherds coming from the Basque Country, made their herds transhumance to Cauterets. This place was then called the Basque Camp and the farm owes its name to it. From a high altitude bar in 1928, it now develops three activities: the production of farm products, their sale in a shop and a restaurant. Clinging to the side of the mountain, at an altitude of 1,200 metres, its terrace overlooks the village and the panoramic view is superb. All the dishes, soups, garbure, cassoulet, pâté, black pork terrine... are made from home-made products.
