In Cauterets, we know even more than elsewhere, that water is vital. The famous mountain village is renowned for its know-how in the field of thermalism: its naturally warm sulfurous waters, reinforced by a tonic and invigorating climate, offer a health complement. The reputation of the village dates back to the 19th century, when Victor Hugo, Alfred de Vigny, George Sand and Chateaubriand came to this Pyrenean valley to treat their ailments. Since then, the thermal baths have welcomed about 6,000 people every year. The health recovery is done in a setting conducive to relaxation and in this restful environment, where the pure air is incomparable, you benefit from respiratory tract-ORL and rheumatology cures, adults and children, but also more specific cures focused on fibromyalgia or the new Pleine Santé cure to preserve health and age better. Mud application, aerobath and hydromassage bath, jet or affusion shower, hydrojet pool... From the drinking cure to the nasal bath, including individual sonic and manosonic aerosols or individual respiratory re-education, the treatment is adapted to the disorders. The Cauterets thermal baths are divided into two establishments: the César thermal baths for ENT, respiratory tract and rheumatology, the Griffons thermal baths being solely dedicated to rheumatology (establishment located 1.5 km from the town center and served by a free shuttle bus for the curists).
