You will also find bakers, wine merchants, tripiers and bars, for an impromptu aperitif. At lunchtime, go to the mezzanine where there are five restaurants. Night parties are regularly organised: a festive atmosphere is guaranteed!

We date the origin of this market to the end of the 19th century! Of the three covered markets in Toulouse, it is the only one to have preserved a market hall in keeping with the original spirit. Around thirty traders await you in pretty stalls and a village spirit: butchers, creamers, fishmongers, caterers, butchers... so many passionate craftsmen and producers, ready to advise you, plus a small bar for a break. Outside, you can enjoy the fresh produce. On Monday, the day off, the market hall is not totally inactive as it houses a bookstore market under its awnings.

The Saint-Aubin market is the place to be on Sunday mornings in Toulouse to fill your basket. In a friendly and sometimes festive atmosphere, you can stroll along the stalls around the Saint-Aubin Church. Fruits, vegetables, meats, cheeses, French and international dishes... Organic and local producers come from all over the region to offer you the best culinary specialties of the area. You will also find creative craftsmen, book stands, jewelry, there is something for everyone!

Located in one of the most charming districts of the pink city, the Carmes market welcomes fifty traders in bright and pleasant booths. Many restaurants in Toulouse buy fresh vegetables there. Cheeses, bakery products, meats and fishes are waiting for you! But if you don't feel like cooking, the Carmes market, as well as its surroundings, also offer very pleasant tables for lunch!

A bit of a bohemian market? No doubt, but it's for a good cause: defending local producers of organic produce! The L'esparcette association founded this market thirty years ago, when it was the first organic market in France. The products on offer are inspected and certified, to guarantee you a healthy diet. Nearly thirty producers are represented: fruit, vegetables, cheese, bakery, meat and fish, honey, wine, lentils, flowers... Please note that during the Christmas festivities, the market will be moved a few meters to rue d'Alsace-Lorraine.

After 6 years of work, Les Halles de la Cartoucheries will open in September 2023 in the 14,000 square meters of rehabilitated former GIAT factories. Inside this huge pink brick building, a 3,000 m² gourmet hall will open with 1,500 seats and 27 stalls for shopping, drinking, eating and feasting at lunch and dinner. There are traditional market shops, street and world cuisine, a grocery store and a cooking school.

The Arnaud-Bernard district is a working-class part of the city that has timidly begun its transformation towards diversity. Its main square is home to two open-air markets. One is held on Thursdays, exclusively for second-hand booksellers. The other takes place on Saturday mornings. You won't find any exotic products here: this is a market that relies exclusively on small-scale producers. It's an opportunity to quickly find local produce, some of it organic. It's an interesting complement to the Cristal market, which is just a few dozen meters away on the boulevards and features fruit and vegetables from the Grand Marché.

Visiting Toulouse and not passing by the inevitable Victor Hugo market? It's impossible! The oldest covered market in France is one of the most emblematic places of life in the pink city. Since 1896, it has been welcoming gourmets in its convivial hall, which brings together about sixty merchants. All the local products are offered on the first floor by butchers, poulterers, delicatessens, caterers, wine merchants, cheesemongers, bakers, fishmongers... that you can find directly in your plate, in the restaurants on the second floor!

In addition to its three covered markets, Toulouse has many open-air food markets. The most central is the Cristal market. But you may be more attracted by the "village" atmosphere of the Saint-Aubin market on Sunday mornings, surrounded by good restaurants where you can enjoy a good meal!
