A pretty little town, peaceful, languishing along a deceptively shy tributary of the Garonne, the Salat. You are here in the land of the Comminges, in the Petites Pyrénées, not far from the Ariège. Salies-du-Salat reaches an altitude of 300 meters and benefits from a microclimate known to be both invigorating and relaxing. It is a very popular spa resort, receiving nearly 2,000 visitors each season. The architecture of the thermal installations alone is worth a look. Its waters, with a salinity index of 322 grams/liter, the most mineralized in Europe (even more than the Dead Sea), are particularly beneficial for treating rheumatism.
