Gontaud de Nogaret is a charming village built on the model of the bastides A Protestant town, it was besieged in 1580 by the royal army led by Marshal de Gontaud. It was then pillaged and the population massacred. Only the Cancon House, built between 1473 and 1495, survived. Now a private castle, Le Cloître, the building has had many owners and different phases of work.
