The Fumel factory, witness of a long metallurgical tradition, carries a part of the memory of the life and work of the Fumel people. Far from the North, the spirit of the corons lives on here. Created in 1847, the factory closed its doors in June 2018. Located on the border of Quercy, the landscapes around Fumel have nothing to do with the neighboring Lot valley. Its lively town, decorated with old Lot stones, will seduce you. From the terrace of the town hall, a feudal castle rebuilt in the 18th century, the view is spectacular. Go down to the river and embark on a gabarre to discover medieval mills and fortified houses, submerged or active locks.
