Montmaurin is located a dozen kilometers north of Saint-Gaudens. The jewel of Gallo-Roman architecture can be found at the bottom of the village. Inhabited from the 2nd to 4th centuries, the princely town of Montmaurin bears witness to the splendor of an era. With no fewer than 200 rooms, the seigniorial residence(villa Urbana) is the largest villa unearthed in France. The outbuildings(villa Rustica) housed some 500 employees. For nature lovers, the Save gorges, particularly the Save-Seygouade interfluve, with its rich biodiversity of flora and fauna, will enchant you for the duration of your visit.
