Francescas was transformed into a bastide under Edward I in 1286 and is certainly worth a visit, firstly because of its location overlooking the hillsides. The access was made by four doors today destroyed, but the past is never far away: it is enough to stroll in the streets to feel it telling you the flamboyance of the places. The central square and its half-timbered houses are enchanting. Do not hesitate to visit the church, but especially the house where Etienne de Vignolles, companion of Joan of Arc, lived. In summer, there is a night market where you can find the best of the local produce from 6pm onwards. One more reason to come!
