Alphonse de Poitiers had this walled bastide fortress built in 1259. 4 doors protected the access. The central square is surrounded by angle irons, in the center a market hall where on the first floor is the town hall, just like in the Middle Ages! The houses are very colourful. The way of painting the facades that was used in medieval times has been respected. Damazan has a nautical stopover overhung by a garden. The site of Lake Moulineau contains a swimming area and supervised in July and August, but also the only water ski lift Lot-et-Garonne. It is also a fishing lake. A pretty village that deserves a stopover.
