This bastide, erected in 1259 and built on a pech, dominates the Dropt valley. The site of 9 battles during the Hundred Years' War, today you can appreciate its calm and its heritage, including a pretty central square lined with angle irons, where an atypical market hall and its bell tower in the form of a pepperpot take pride of place. Admire the old governor's house, its Renaissance courtyard and the old tithe barn. In the church, a superb baroque altarpiece is surrounded by 2 classified paintings and a polychrome Virgin and Child and 4 modern stained glass windows. Add to that the Guirlity postern, the Valets gate, the beautiful 18th century houses... What a rich territory!
