Located on the route to Santiago de Compostela, Manciet was the scene of rivalry between two orders of hospitallers, the Templars and the Gascon Order of Saint-Jacques-de-la-Foi, who fought over the site for more than 30 years. In the end, it was a third thief (the Spanish Order of Santiago) who put everyone in agreement by reclaiming the site. To the north of the village is the Château de Blancastel, built in the late 15th century. The arena, dedicated to the Landes race, is sadly remembered for the death of the famous écarteur Giovanni in 1923. In the south, you'll find a washhouse dating from 1896, an architectural marvel.
