The name may seem intriguing. Lasseube comes from the Latin silvae meaning forest, and "clean" in the Middle Ages meant a place that had been cleared of trees so that a village could be established. Thus, Lasseube-Propre has existed since medieval times, changing from fortress to castelnau in the 13th century. We also know, through excavated remains, that the place called Es-Vivès was occupied in antiquity. The walks in the surroundings allow you to discover the tower of the village which was the ancient door of the castelnau, the private castles of Castet-Viel, of la Blennerie and of Cazaux, the various churches and chapels, and other elements of the small rural heritage.
