Lannepax is a pretty and quiet village on the borders of Ténarèze and Bas-Armagnac. Its regular layout and half-timbered houses bear witness to the fact that the bastide was founded in the 13th century, like many towns and villages in the Gers. The name chosen means "heath of peace", because it is on this hill that, according to the legend, Crassius would have received the submission of Novempopulania. Founded by the Count of Armagnac, located on an ancient Roman road, the city collected a toll. Despite its modest size and remote location, the village is home to some of the oldest and largest Armagnac houses, and one of the best restaurants in the Gers.
