The only village in the Gers to have existed since the Middle Ages, Castéra-Verduzan brought together the communes of Castéra-Vivens, Laclaverie and Verduzan in 1821. On the edge of the Auloue, the village is also crossed by two springs, one ferruginous and the other sulfurous. They have been famous since Gallo-Roman times, and Louis XV praised their curative virtues. The thermal baths, the oldest part of which dates back to 1817, attract many visitors each year and make the small village of 1,000 inhabitants a very popular destination. Its hilly landscape, its monuments, its rich heritage and its typical dovecotes give it an unequalled charm.
