It is a very beautiful typical village, as Gascony has produced so many. This castelnau was born in the XIIIth century thanks to the noble Arbieu de Labatut who left his first name as a legacy. Its 200 inhabitants enjoy magnificent views, a proud church with a slender bell tower, brand new pavements, plenty of space, beautiful stones and a more than remarkable hamlet: Aurenque. Its stone bridge dating back to the Xth century has suffered significant damage during the bad weather of winter 2020. It was restored in spring 2021 and can be used again by walkers. Various hiking trails wind through the territory of the commune.
