In the 16th century, the episcopal court of Agen resided here. Today, in the old palace, there is an art gallery which offers to the amateurs the possibility of admiring very beautiful paintings and sculptures. One of these bishops of Agen, Matteo Bandello, is the author of a collection of short stories that had a small success, translated in France and in England. One of them, whose characters are called Romeo and Giulietta, is said to have inspired Shakespeare to write his famous play The Lovers of Verona. The original of this collection is in the departmental archives in Agen. The Great Organic Fair takes place in June, organised by the Trésors des Coteaux farm.
