Created around 1118 by the Templars of Mancet, this bastide is a charming place to stroll. Crossed by the Adour river, it lies on the edge of the Landes region. Beautiful testimonies to its past, such as its 16th-century church with its square bell tower, its exceptional wash-house and its curious prison, a former water tower that was later used as a security room and night shelter, form a heritage full of character. Famous for its arena, where the landaise race has been held for five centuries, Barcelonne-du-Gers opens its paths to you, its woods where Jeanne d'Albret's castle has left a few vestiges, its Adour path and, above all, its heart.
