Astaffort is a pretty town of 2,000 souls on the Gers border. It's well known as a gastronomic stop-off point, but that's not all. Take a stroll to discover the half-timbered houses, the pretty architecture of the town hall or the Roques water mill, which bathes in the River Gers. Astaffort is also known as the birthplace of Francis Cabrel, who still lives here. Together with the town council, he is behind the "Rencontres d'Astaffort". These are training courses for young up-and-coming artists, punctuated by concerts given in the old market hall, now transformed into a music hall, while the old school is used as a venue.
