A small rural village, Anthé seems almost to be hidden at the bottom of the Ressegayre valley. The houses and the church are nestled on the hillside and are dominated by the ruins of the castle of Birou, located 500 m further on a Pech. The castle would have been built during the second half of the 13th century. Today, only a few sections of the wall remain. Not much is known about this medieval building, which contributes to give the place a strange atmosphere and to feed the craziest legends that run in the village! Take the steep stairs that lead to the church to discover the parish church of Saint-Pierre.
