The village of Nant is located between the Causses and the Cevennes, bordered by two rivers: the Dourbie and the Durzon. In the 10th century, the Benedictine monks created a network of canals to drain the marshy lands. These canals still criss-cross Nant, which has earned it the name "the garden of the Aveyron". The village has known a growth of agriculture thanks to this irrigation technique, the life of Nant revolved around the monastic life until the abbey was suppressed in 1777. From this splendid period, one could see the Saint-Pierre abbey church, the Saint-Jacques church, the chapel of the Penitents and the bridge of Prade dating from the 14th century
