To discover this village at the confluence of the Lot and Truyère rivers, leave the Rue du Tour-de-Ville and wend your way through the streets of the old town. The village's origins date back to the 13th century, when Henri II, Count of Rodez, decided to build a castle to control river traffic. The Rue Basse, the Passage de l'Église, the Impasse de l'Horloge and the Place de l'Église have all retained their medieval atmosphere, with numerous passageways under the houses. The town was fortified in 1357, and traces of the rampart walk remain in what is now Rue de l'Horloge.
