Vielle and Saint-Girons are 4 kilometers apart. Between 1790 and 1792, the two parishes were united to form a single commune. A "sauveté" column, a vestige of the Middle Ages, stands in the village, in the Les Chênes housing estate. A small seaside resort in the heart of the Landes forest, Vielle-Saint-Girons has many attractions. Nature is omnipresent, with 13 kilometers of beach, a swimming lake and the Huchet stream with its nature reserve. The beach and lake offer a wide range of water sports. There are also signposted footpaths, not to mention the Vélodyssée.
