Set back from the main roads, this village, whose name comes from the Gallic bucciacus (mouth) and ac (domain), is composed of houses gathered around a fortified church. Built in the 13th century, it was fortified during the Hundred Years War. It was then used as a keep and refuge rooms were built above the nave. The interior, with its arches and vaults, forms an elegant setting for the altarpiece of the high altar. Made of gilded wood in the 16th century, it depicts the Assumption of the Virgin and her coronation into heaven. The village is the starting point for walks in the Baraquevillois region. To see also: some dolmens spread over the town.
