Overlooking the Lot valley, at an altitude of around 560 m and crossed by the Méridienne Verte, the commune of Almont-les-Junies was created after the Revolution. However, its history is much older, the mention of Almon(Almontis) appearing as early as the 10th and 11th centuries in the cartulary of Conques. According to the legend, Hugon, originally from Puechagut (Saint-Parthem) would have built a first chapel in the 12th century before living there as a hermit. To see: the Sainte-Catherine chapel built in the 19th century, the Saint-Martin church built around 1860, the "Roman" bridge, the bread oven from 2010, the stockfish drying shed and the Cabanou cross..
