In the extreme south of the Landes department, Tarnos is the fifth town with more than 12,000 inhabitants! Bordering the department of Pyrénées-Atlantiques, after having turned to agriculture until 1880, the town became, with its industrial port, the link between Spain and France for the transit of Iberian iron. The establishment of the "Forges de l'Adour", a factory dedicated to steel and cast iron, ensured the growth of the town and its "twin", Boucau. Two churches, Notre-Dame-des-Forges and Saint-Vincent, two beaches, as well as its increasingly developed infrastructure for tourism, make it a very pleasant little town.
