" The castle of Lordat is so great that it cannot ruin ", thus affirmed Sieur d'Audou, governor of the county, King of France Henry IV. Perched on a rocky outcrop, dominating the Vallée valley of nearly 300 m, he had what to discourage the attackers by his position and dimensions. It was one of the largest in the county of Foix.
