Charming village of 1 000 inhabitants, located in the heart of the Arize and Lèze valleys. It looks like a bastide but it is not. It is located on the river Lèze and its jewel is the church Saint-Barthélémy and its two superb bell towers. The old train station has been nicely renovated (private property). The village is known as the birthplace of the troubadour Aicart del Fossat whose texts and notes resounded in the middle of the 13th century and have reached us. The village is close to the artists' village of Carla-Bayle, and to the village of Artigat, known thanks to the story of Martin Guerre.
