The interior of this brewery-restaurant, created by Yannick Metge, has been enlarged and is now a real success. In a neo-industrial setting, the microbrewery is housed in a former iron workshop. We're at the heart of local consumption, with beers brewed on site, and tapas and burgers concocted with local produce. At 12 noon, the traditional slate-style cuisine is top-notch. Why the fork? In Occitan it's called foueich, which gave rise to... Foix. A must-visit address. Soon to open as a coworking space!

In Ariège, there are institutions such as the castle of Foix, the mounjetade, the hunt and... the Rouch charcuterie in the store and on the markets. Since 1870, the house has been making fresh, dry or cooked charcuterie with pigs received whole and raised in the South West. The butcher's shop is exclusively from the Ariège. Rouch's traditional charcuterie and specialties from the Ariege are prepared in a laboratory near Foix. Ariège ham, sausage under the ash, pâtés, cassoulet...

This family house was inaugurated on May^1st 1972. It was 50 years ago, on Labor Day, which is still relevant today because the company has about 20 employees and many apprentices who benefit from a know-how and a transmission worthy of the golden age of the journeymen. Everything is based on natural and high quality ingredients. In addition to the delicious home-made chocolates, you will enjoy croustades, black forests, bavarois, éclairs. The only chocolate manufacturer in Foix, the artist creates chocolate sculptures, true works of art.

A superb establishment in Rue Lazema, the patisserie-tea room opened by Lauralou, Matthieu and Morgan is a real success. Big window, green façade, classic chic furniture. Matthieu and Morgan, talented pastry artists, will cure all ills with prescriptions of chocolate, lemon meringues and other sweets that do so much good to the body and mind... Their creations bear names, a little outdated but so charming.

Since 1997, this unmissable winery has been making people happy in the region! The Dejean family is in charge. The wines of France are obviously represented, but the most curious visitors will be able to discover wines of the world with different flavors and surprising aromas. For 9 years, Christine and Sylvie have been running this store located on the Route d'Espagne. They have made it the temple of regional products and propose beautiful shelves of delicatessen, wine cellar, beers, meats and delicatessen, cheeses, fresh vegetables, fruit juices, breads and pastries, sweets, milk of local producers, organic products, preserves, jars of prepared dishes... The list is very long... The products are selected for their quality and come from the Ariège or the South-West. The store is nice, the reception too, in short, we go there!

Foix has many bakeries, but this one shines by its past, its originality and the quality of its bread. It has existed for more than a century and its wooden frontage reminds us of a medieval shop. The store smells good bread, croissants, flour... Thierry Massat, the baker who has been at the helm for 20 years, works in front of his 1901 wood oven. And what comes out of it is nothing but delight and sweetness: sourdough breads and pastries baked in wood and the ravaille (badly baked bread), a traditional bread. Delicious sandwiches in a whole baguette!

Attention gourmands... Founded in 2014 by Alex Gareiss, this artisan chocolate factory focused primarily on fair trade, works directly and closely with cocoa producers located in Ecuador. You can, of course, get bars of dark chocolate (from 75% to 100%!), pure or enhanced with various spices, but also unroasted beans, cocoa butter and non-defatted chocolate, ideal for pastries or delicious real hot chocolates. Roasters are passionate craftsmen. A new store has just opened near Place Pyrène. Sophie Garrabé, a native of Fuxé, invites us to discover the coffees she roasts herself. Thanks to her selection of feves, our taste buds will travel from Africa (Ethiopia, Uganda...) to South America (Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Costa Rica...). Her knowledge and advice are not limited to caffeine: Sophie also excels in her knowledge of teas (Chinese or Japanese) and other delicious, fragrant infusions.
