Fans of the oval ball will be delighted to learn that Saugnac-en-Cambran, a small village on the banks of the Luy, was the birthplace of one of the great captains of the XV de France, Raphaël Ibañez. In the center of this small rural village, the pretty white town hall with its blue shutters faces the small Saint-Pierre church, built in the 13th century. Today, the village has a population of around 1,500 (census 2021), and is part of the Grand Dax agglomeration community, being located five kilometers south of the Landes sub-prefecture.
