The name Castillon-en-Couserans refers to the feudal castle that stood on a mound overlooking the town. Of this monument, which was for many years the residence of the Counts of Comminges, all that remains is the chapel of the Calvary called Saint-Pierre, dating from the 12th century and fortified in the 15th century. This one shelters Romanesque paintings with rare iconographic themes. Like many of its brothers, the castle was razed to the ground on the orders of Richelieu. In the village church, of more recent construction, one can admire two polychrome woods of the 16th century, a Christ with tied hands and a pietà inspired by that of Audressein.
